Honora Egan came over from Ireland with three siblings, two who never landed. There was a sickness that prevented their ship from landing in Pennsylvania as planned, so they went around Florida to New Orleans, and by that time, those who had died, were buried at sea, and those who arrived were well.
Honora went North and got work at the Reed family farm. It wasn't long before she and one of the sons, Frederick Reed were to marry.
Frederick Reed and Honora had Eleanor Reed, who married Judge Arthur E. Sutherland, grandfather's father and lived in Rochester, New York.
