Research Sources:

See this History of the Town of Pittsford (1872) The Cooleys have many dozens of references in this book which is available in a variety of formats. It talks about the burial grounds among many other topics. See Index at the back of this 700 plus page book.

Here's a list of cemeteries in Vermont. Look for the town of Pittsford. While there are links for each cemetery to a Google Map, the cemetery is NOT marked on the map, so we'll just have to locate it when we visit.

Lieut. Abner Cooley and his wife Jerusha Graves Cooley are buried in the Riverside cemetery on the Connecticut River in Sunderland where Anora lived her senior year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The cemetery is primarily a Graves family cemetery.

What is their Sutherland connection?

Abner Cooley is a grandson of Anora's 9th generation direct ancestor's husband Daniel Cooley.

Naomi's ancestors include Daniel Cooley. [Action: Reconfirm this.]
